Case Study 005: N.H.
In May 2020, a 26-year-old female patient, referred to as N.H., was diagnosed with scoliosis. She presented with an ‘S’ curve scoliosis, characterized by a 52-degree curvature on the top right side and a 23-degree curve on the bottom left. Accompanying symptoms included spinal rotation, neck and back pain, a protruding hump on the back, and a noticeable lean to one side when standing.
An intensive two-week care treatment was administered, consisting of targeted exercises and dietary modifications. The exercise regimen aimed to strengthen abdominal muscles, as well as arms and legs, to support a more aligned posture. Simultaneously, dietary changes were recommended to reduce inflammation and promote overall health.
Central to the treatment was a custom-fit brace, designed to exert corrective pressure on the spine, encouraging realignment while ensuring mobility and comfort. This brace exemplified advancements in orthotic technology for non-invasive scoliosis treatment.
Post-treatment evaluations demonstrated significant improvements. The curvature of the top right side reduced to 49 degrees, while the bottom left curve decreased to 12 degrees. Additionally, the patient reported reduced pain and enhanced quality of life.
This case highlights the efficacy of combining physical therapy, dietary adjustments, and advanced bracing technology in scoliosis management. It provides an alternative to surgical intervention and underscores the importance of personalized orthopedic care.
