Case Study 011: S.R.
S.R., a 14-year-old female, presented with back pain, a neck offset to her right side, and uneven shoulders. Radiographic findings revealed an s-curve of 10 degrees on the top right curve and 8 degrees for the bottom left curve, with her left hip 5 degrees higher than the right side. The treatment approach included targeted exercises and spinal traction.
Over a period of 2 weeks, S.R. underwent intensive care treatment focusing on exercises to strengthen the core muscles and improve spinal alignment, along with spinal traction to provide additional support and aid in correcting the spinal curvature.
Following treatment, S.R. experienced a significant reduction in pain and normalization of spinal curvature to 0 degrees on both sides. This demonstrates the effectiveness of early detection and evidence-based interventions in managing adolescent scoliosis and improving patient outcomes.
