Clinical Presentation: K.I., a 67-year-old female, presented with a bottom right c-curve scoliosis measuring 26 degrees before treatment. Her clinical symptoms were diverse: including osteoporosis, headaches, shortness of breath, irritation, forgetfulness, stress, insomnia, chest pain, limb numbness, depression, indigestion, cold extremities, hip pain, neck pain, back pain, and shoulder pain. Additionally, she exhibited a reverse neck curvature. To address these issues, K.I. underwent a comprehensive treatment plan
Treatment Approach: Over a period of two weeks, K.I. underwent intensive care treatment, focusing on pain management, and muscle strengthening. Spinal and Neck Traction therapy was administered to improve alignment, reducing muscle spasms, and enhance overall comfort. An order-made corset was recommended to provide targeted support. Spinal decompression and hydration exercises helped nourish the intervertebral discs, promoting their health and flexibility. Measures were taken to enhance spinal flexibility. K.I. engaged in a series of exercises and stretches designed to improve range of motion, easing stiffness and enhancing overall mobility. Efforts were made to restore the natural c-curve of the neck. Manual adjustments, therapeutic exercises, and ergonomic guidance played a crucial role in achieving this restoration.
Outcome: Following treatment, K.I.’s scoliosis curvature decreased to 19 degrees. K.I. experienced newfound comfort and increased mobility. She stood taller, her spine became more resilient, ready to face life’s twists and turns. Daily activities became easier, embracing newfound flexibility. K.I. held their head high, no longer burdened by neck discomfort.
The experience of K.I. highlights how an intensive care treatment strategy, coupled with targeted exercises and supportive devices, can effectively manage scoliosis-related curvature and pain.
