Introduction: In December 2020, a 15-year-old female patient, T.J., presented with symptoms of scoliosis. The initial examination revealed an S-curve of 29 degrees on the top right curve and 20 degrees on the bottom left curve. The patient’s symptoms included a straight neck, uneven shoulders, a posture leaning to one side, and cold hands and feet.
Treatment: The treatment plan for T.J. was comprehensive and included a variety of approaches. The primary focus was on posture correction exercises and strengthening the core muscles. T.J. underwent two weeks of intensive care treatment. This included neck and spinal traction therapy, dormant muscle activation, and disc hydration treatment. Dietary recommendations were also made as part of the treatment plan. An order-made corset was recommended to aid in posture correction and support the spine. Additionally, a neck C-curve restoration treatment was administered to address the straight neck symptom.
Outcome: The curvature was reduced to 23 degrees on the top right curve and 13 degrees on the bottom left curve. These treatments reduced the curvature and relieved the pain associated with scoliosis.
Conclusion: This case study demonstrates how a well planned and executed treatment strategy can effectively manage a complex condition like scoliosis.
